I Am Africa Gala

The Genesis Youth Foundation's annual "I am Africa Gala" is an exceptional event that aims to raise awareness about the needs and aspirations of refugee youth and immigrant families in Central Iowa. By bringing together the community through food, music, fashion, and dance, the Gala celebrates African culture while supporting the operations of the Genesis Youth Foundation.

The theme for this year's event is Ubuntu, which embodies the philosophy of interconnectedness and unity. Through storytelling sessions from members of the African community, attendees will have the opportunity to experience the power of shared experiences and the strength of community bonds.

Location: Prairie Meadow Ballroom at 1 Prairie Meadows Drive, Altoona, IA 50009. The dress will be formal or African wear.

Tickets to the Gala go on sale on June 1st and can be purchased at www.genesisyouthfoundation.org. General admission tickets are $75 and VIP tickets are $130.
