About The Event

Join your neighbors at the first in a series of events celebrating Johnston residents from around the globe.

Johnston Public Library is excited to collaborate with Genesis Youth Foundation for the first program. The event begins with a live performances by VIP African Dancers and Ima Kulture African Rhythm Band, followed by a panel discussion featuring African people currently living in the Des Moines Metro area sharing their life experiences. Did we mention there will be food? Come hungry so you can sample the flavors of Africa while you get to know your neighbors. This is an all ages event and also part of Adult Summer Reading. Registration is appreciated to help us plan for food quantities.
